Executive Director, InterTech Science Park
Shreveport native Brad Schmidt serves as executive director of InterTech Science Park, overseeing the management, maintenance, and development of BRF properties and technological infrastructure. He also assists with real estate and recruitment-related aspects of BRF’s strategic economic development efforts.
Brad joined BRF after successfully facilitating the sale of BRF subsidiary EMR Everywhere, a comprehensive IT services provider, for which he was the chief financial officer. EMR Everywhere had been formed under his leadership while serving as the COO and head of development at BRF’s University Health System (UHS). At UHS, he oversaw 800,000 square feet of facility, managed large clinic operations, developed new locations, and drove business development in the community.
Brad is an experienced C-Level leader known for innovation and program execution with more than 25 years of experience in enterprise/real estate development and healthcare/technology operations.
Throughout his career, Brad has been credited with initiating and delivering significant organizational
change and operational efficiency, which has benefited not only stakeholders but his teams.
Prior to serving UHS/EMR Everywhere, Brad oversaw an $800 million global business unit for a Fortune 500 telecom company and previously worked for a national hospital company to identify, acquire, develop, and open hospital facilities across the U.S. Through his own management consulting firm, he also operated several small enterprises, including a technology startup that was acquired by a Big Three telecom firm. The firm also helped start-up organizations as they developed ideas, brands and business plans. His leadership with aspiring entrepreneurs included interpreting technical specifications, evaluating of business targets, setting business goals, and administering health and retirement plan specifications.
Brad holds memberships in numerous industry and professional organizations such as the Louisiana Industrial Development Executives Association and the Council for Developmental Finance Agencies. He previously served as a board member and president of the Medical Equipment Suppliers Association and currently acts as the secretary/treasurer and board member for the Industrial Development Board of Caddo Parish, Louisiana. He is a past board member of COHAB, an entrepreneurial incubator.
He is an accomplished builder, pilot, and individual sport athlete, and holds a real estate license.
Brad holds a Master of Health Care Administration and Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from LSU, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business/IT from Louisiana Tech University.
