The Biomedical Research Foundation is an economic developer that works with key groups such as LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Caddo and Bossier Parish School Boards, area higher education and technical institutions, Willis-Knighton and CHRISTUS Schumpert Medical Centers, state and federal legislators and others to build the assets of people, research, facilities and funding that creates an entrepreneurial environment. Since 1986, The Biomedical Research Foundation has generated $213 million in support to stimulate this entrepreneurial environment with only 10% coming from Caddo Parish tax dollars – a 10:1 return on local public investment.
